Exarch Rehme
A.C. 2886 - 2890 It has been told to me that my letters need work so I must keep up this journal. Some fruit from the Salt Shore has arrived in the city and I must admit my father would be pleased. We held his ceremonial burial but a few weeks ago. While he was one to stick to matters of the Palace I shall surround myself with Champions such as those heard of in ballads and poems.
My first hurdle they tell me, to find a wife.
A.C. 2891 - 2895 From Pomarche I find a splendid wife. After all that region has proven itself in battle and as an ally for decades now. The Grail is beset on all sides by various catastrophes. To that end we send forth food and goods to relieve the cost of war or rebuilding where possible.
To the table of war, Sir Beau is sent West with troops selected for the terrain there. The foul beasts of Barrandia spill over and multiply. This cannot pass so I summon the men and we crush every monster in sight. Something tells me to keep blades sharp and armor repaired for the coming times.
New arrives of the victory in the Stonehearts, it is tainted by the fact that Sir Beau and his bodyguard are cut down. Oh the price of freedom.
A.C. 2896 - 2900 Sweet Victoria, is it so much to ask for a child. The line must be kept intact so the treasury and mustering of men must suffice in place of battle. Who will carry on as those I had thought to surround myself with are spent while I sit and go over paperwork and sign my name to tax rolls.
Alas the good Queen succumbs to child birth. I lose both and find little solace in anything.
A.C. 2901 - 2903 The duty of the Exarch is not to dwell on the past, but the future of the States. My councilors convince me to take a wife from among the nobility here in Pontezium. She is a kind women and to my everlasting joy a son is born of our union less than 1 year later.
- Anothers handwriting. While drilling with the men on the grounds of the Acropolis Rehme falls over in his saddle and is dead. Sir Waylan shows his worth and announces himself Regent until the young boy grows to take his rightful place as Exarch. There are few rumblings, not so surprising considering the mans skill at diplomacy and the full court and administrators to back his efforts.
