WAEPA INSURANCE INFORMATION

WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employee of Public Agencies, Inc)

Federal Employees Receive 25% Insurance Premium Refund:

WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employee of Public Agencies, Inc) has just announced a 25% premium refund! This is nothing new to those federal employees with WAEPA life insurance, as this is the tenth refund since 1996, during which time WAEPA policyholders have received over $28,000,000 in returned premiums. Refund checks this year will average $125 per WAEPA policyholder.

Besides this unique refund policy, WAEPA also offers other significant advantages:

Lower Premium Rates

Civilian federal and postal service employees less than age 60 will find WAEPA's premium rates to be significantly less than FEGLI Basic and Options A, B, and C.

For example, consider the typical federal employee -- age 47 earning just under $50,000 per year who has the maximum FEGLI coverage:

FEGLI COVERAGE:

Basic Coverage $52,000

Option A Coverage $10,000

Option B Coverage $250,000

Option C Coverage $25,000

Total $337,000

ANNUAL FEGLI PREMIUM:

Basic Coverage $202.80

Option A Coverage $23.40

Option B Coverage $585.00

Option C Coverage $78.00

Total $889.20

This same federal employee could apply for $355,000 of WAEPA coverage ($325,000 for the employee and $30,000 of dependent coverage) at a cost of $586.00 per year - an annual savings of 34% or an extra $303.20 in your pocket. Plus, if you already had this coverage with WAEPA, you would be receiving a refund check of $146.50! (Similar savings are available at other ages and coverage levels. More Choices for Coverage

WAEPA offers federal employees coverage from $25,000 up to $500,000 (FEGLI is based on your annual salary -- not your actual insurance needs).  Additionally, WAEPA offers dependent spouse coverage from $10,000 up to $250,000 (the FEGLI maximum is $25,000). Unique Benefits Not Available Under FEGLI

Your non-dependent adult children can apply for WAEPA coverage from $25,000 up to $500,000--even though they are not federal employees. For them to become eligible all you have to do is become a member of WAEPA by paying a one-time $2.00 membership fee--you are not required to purchase any WAEPA insurance!

WAEPA is a Non-Profit Association: WAEPA's sole mission is to serve the needs of civilian federal and postal service employees.  WAEPA is governed by a Board of Directors composed of federal employees, just like you, who serve on a voluntary basis without pay. WAEPA is a well-established organization, as it was founded in 1943--eleven years before the FEGLI program was formed.

Isn't it Time You Considered WAEPA?

If you currently do not have coverage with WAEPA we urge you to consider WAEPA for your family's life insurance needs. We believe that WAEPA's lower premiums, wider choice of benefits, unique premium refund policy, and non-profit service philosophy makes WAEPA an extremely viable alternative or supplement to your current federal coverage.
