Current benefits for NASCOE members include such items as various insurance policies through J & M Marketing, theme park discounts tickets and cell phone discounts. 

For the MWA Area, we have Theme Park tickets on hand for Adventureland Inn in Des Moines, Iowa, Holiday Land and Surfin’ Splash Water Park in Santa Clause, Indiana and Mt. Olympus Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.  Requests for discount tickets have been mailed to the Midwest area Six Flag Theme parks.

Cell Phone discounts are available to NASCOE members through Alltel, Cingular, Verizon, Sprint/Nextel and T-Mobile.  The committee is currently working with U. S. Cellular to secure discounts through that company.

Apple computers also offer a 17% discount to government employees and various discounted items are available through www.gov.purchasingpower.com.

In addition to the above benefits, members have the option to request a one hour consultation with the NASCOE attorney concerning employment issues. Each request will be considered according to merit and may or may not be granted as this is not an entitlement program. Initial requests should be made through the state president.

The Benefits Committee continues to work on such issues as additional retirement training, wellness programs, health insurance premiums, FERS Sick Leave usage after retirement, cost of living adjustments which are not comparable to the private sector, government pension offset and Social Security Windfall Elimination Provision.
