Take Hwy 49 five miles north of Iola,
Wisconsin to Cty MM, then 2 miles west to Norseman Hill.
There you'll find some of the best cross-country trails in the
state. They are groomed for skating and classical skiing, with 20
kilometers of cross-country trails(4 miles under the lights!)
that will satisfy even the experts in the sport. Two Thiokol
Imps, Pisten Bully 160d with tiller and ice renovator, Ski-Doo
Bomby, double track Aktiv Grizzlies and two Ski-Doo Skandic SWTs
work the trails to perfection.
After you get done skiing, you can come in and
warm your toes at the fireplace. There are also food, snacks and
beverages to enjoy.
Open to non-members for a daily use fee
Saturdays and Sundays 9-4, Most nights 5-9pm.
Open to members anytime(memberships
available at the chalet on weekends during the season or click for form.)
The Iola Winter Sports Club is a non-profit organization that
exists to promote the winter sports of cross country skiing and
ski jumping. Our focus is on family recreation. We are very proud
to be able to introduce children to the sport of skiing, both
cross country and ski jumping. Each year about 90 children
participate in our Youth Ski League which is completely supported
by the club through membership fees and grants and donations by
area organizations. The IWSC is made up of volunteers who put in
many hundreds of hours to provide a good family experience of
skiing and hiking.
